Overview:
Pie Eyed is the resident food truck stationed at Le Chien Brewing Company in Denham Springs. Pie Eyed is serving up sweet and savory hand pies made with fresh and local ingredients. What better way to enjoy the scenic and dog-friendly brewery than with a quality, quick, and hot meal to compliment your cold craft beer.
THE CHALLENGE
Greeted with a bit of push back at the start, Denham Springs is finally welcoming their first Beer Garden. Complete with a dog-friendly atmosphere, craft beer and a resident food truck, Pie Eyed. Ryan Dunham, owner and operator, wanted the branding of his truck to be separated, but complimentary to the brewery’s established design. It needed to fit the atmosphere of the location, Antique Village in Denham Springs, yet be youthful to attract student in the huge college town next door.
THE SOLUTION
To appeal to a wide audience, we wanted something that felt familiar, friendly and a bit nostalgic, but hold its own with character and charm. We did this by using retro inspired design elements such as pastel and muted colors and elevating the imperfection of hand-drawn elements with layers of texture and custom illustrations.
We added more dimension and character to the brand through the merchandise by illustrating characters inspired by the 50’s “Let’s All Go to the Movies” cartoons. The illustration captures the atmosphere of the dog-friendly brewery with a beer buddy and cute pup in tow.
